Verbarq is a team of architects, designers, creative thinkers, and crafts people who create spaces and objects of exceptional quality and design. We are a dynamic and committed team working together to make your dream projects a reality.

We design and create architectural and interior spaces for townhouses, apartments, hotels, offices and restaurants. We make bespoke high-end handmade furniture for our projects. Each item of furniture we design and build is finished in our factory in Bangalore to a high spec by our team of experienced crafts people.

Verbarq is a portmanteau of the doing word in English, Verb, and Architecture with a twist in the spelling of the latter.

VERB + ARCHITECTURE = VERBARQ

The name signifies our focus on both the design and the making of spaces and objects. For us, constructing well with fine detail is as important as aesthetics.

This philosophy has led us down a path less trodden by most architects and interior designers. We design, build, and manufacture ourselves. We believe that designers who are really serious about quality and user satisfaction have no choice but to build and make themselves.

To enable this, there are three distinct divisions in Verbarq: Design, Site and Manufacturing. Each division works independently with a team lead and distinct work processes, yet all divisions collaborate seamlessly to deliver on our intent for the project.

With our deep knowledge of design and making in the Indian context, we often partner with international design firms for their projects in India, ensuring that their design intent and quality expectations are faithfully executed keeping their reputation stellar.

STORY

DESIGN

Verbarq does not have a style signature. We work in multiple design genres based on the client’s preferences and needs. This is easier said than done as diverse aesthetic profiles need diverse knowledge of design and detailing, skills we have learnt in the past three decades of professional practice.

We see our design service akin to holding up a mirror to the client and enabling them to see what they truly want from the project. Our job is to make that vision a reality.

SITE

Site work in India is usually chaotic with unpredictability being the general trend. We have created simple common-sense systems that enable us to manage our sites efficiently and effectively. We don’t promise unrealistic timelines and cut corners on quality. We have a panel of trade teams who have been trained over several years to achieve our stated objective of high-quality execution.

MANUFACTURING

Our manufacturing unit in Bangalore is organised around the machine+man philosophy. Initial processes of cutting and preparation are done on sophisticated machines, but the final finishing is always done by hand. This allows us to retain an element of craft skill in our products. We make a wide range of products for our projects including doors and windows, building elements like gazebos and orangeries, furniture of all types, partitions and panelling, solid wood flooring, décor items and tableware.
